WELCOME TO THE SOUTH 2026!
Dear Members,
from 15 to 20 September 2026 to “Benvenuti al Sud”, the rally organized by the Puglia Regional Center of the MG Car Club d'Italia.
The title chosen for this edition, "Magna Grecia and the Itria Valley in Puglia," anticipates a journey rich in history, culture, landscapes, and flavors, to discover some of Puglia's most fascinating places.
The reception will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 15th, at the Mon Reve Ecogreen Resort in Talsano, in the province of Taranto, a property with a private bay, swimming pools, and a spa. The first day will continue with a relaxing moment and a dinner accompanied by musical entertainment.
Wednesday, September 16th, will be dedicated to Taranto, the city of two seas. The program includes a guided tour of the Aragonese Castle, a monument symbolizing the city's maritime and military heritage, and a stroll through the historic center, through narrow streets, noble palaces, and vestiges of its Greco-Roman and medieval past, all the way to the Cathedral Basilica of San Cataldo. Lunch will be held at the Navy Officers' Club. The day will conclude with a rustic dinner and an evening dedicated to pizzica and Mediterranean dance.
On Thursday, September 17, the crews will reach Martina Franca and Cisteino. The morning will begin at Masseria San Paolo, with a visit to a Murgesi horse farm, and continue to the historic center of Martina Franca, an elegant baroque town overlooking the Itria Valley. After lunch in a typical Apulian "fo ello," guests will have free time to explore Cisteino, known as the "swinging village" and listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Dinner, swing music, and social dancing are planned for the evening.
On Friday, September 18th, it's time for Ostuni and the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve. The guided tour will take you to the heart of the White City, among whitewashed houses, arches, stairways, and the splendid Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. In the afternoon, the group will visit the reserve and the "Luigi Cantoro" Sea Turtle Rescue Center, with time to relax on the beach and swim.
On Saturday, September 19th, the route will continue to Locorotondo, with its characteristic circular historic center and traditional "cummerse," and Alberobello, the famous trulli village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, participants will be taken on a guided tour of the Monti and Aia Piccola districts. The day will conclude with a gala dinner and musical entertainment.
On Sunday, September 20th, after saying goodbye, the crews will return home, taking with them the memories of six days spent amidst a passion for our MGs, culture, gastronomy, extraordinary landscapes, and the pleasure of being together.
