The signals had been loud and clear from the early stages of organizing the event: this wasn't your average vintage car show; this was a whole different story.
Not only because participation was by invitation, but also because there was room for no more than 12, and above all because they all had to be MGs. And here, the first thanks go to Milanese member Franco Di Bitetto, who convinced the "Associazione San Maurilio Santa Marta," organizer of the event, to choose the MG monobrand for the vintage cars that were to adorn the two streets of the historic city center.

“Fleur en Fleur” is an event that takes place in Milan in spring and autumn, right in the historic center, and mainly involves the shops overlooking Via San Maurilio and Via Santa Marta, as well as a few sponsors (this year there were a couple of wineries and a chocolate company) and perhaps a non-profit organization involved in social work or medical research.
At 5:00 PM (the official start time), the two streets involved, strictly closed to traffic, began to come to life: the public's amazement was palpable at seeing, for the first time in this autumn edition, vintage cars on display. Indeed, 12 MGs from all eras (ranging from 1936 to 1973), perfectly polished, each positioned with precise criteria, were truly a sight to behold!
Just to give a few examples, there was the blue TD of member Salvo Arcidiacono parked nonchalantly at the side of the road with two wheels on the pavement, or the unusual A “Le Mans type” whose nose, illuminated by powerful spotlights, peeked out from a dark doorway, and finally the “strange couple” C-GT (1967) and PB (1936) displayed inside a courtyard, outside of which, on the street, the banner of our Club stood out.
The crowds peaked around 8:00 PM, with the entire street coming to a complete halt. Food and drink offerings from shopkeepers did the rest.
Around 9:30 pm the event was drawing to a close, and we “MG exhibitors” were invited by the impeccable Franco Di Bitetto to a pleasant snack in his studio, and it was there that he revealed another surprise to us: the publication in one of the next issues of the magazine “Gentleman Collector” of an article, accompanied by the usual beautiful photos, on the “Fleur en Fleur”. And if the style is that of the “MG al Vittoriale” of a few months ago, then it will be the icing on the cake of another target hit by…
