“MILANO AUTOCLASSICA 2016” (November 25-26-27, 2016)

After our last participation in 2014, we decided to once again have a stand at the Milanese classic car show “MILANO ATOCLASSICA”, this time in the winter edition (unlike previous editions which were always held between February and March).

All the ingredients for a large turnout were there: the arrival of a manager who had "migrated" from the Padua Fair and, above all, the simultaneous auction organized by RM Sotheby's with 800 lots on sale (which, for the record, often fetched dizzying prices...)

The highlight of our stand was a backdrop (custom-made) depicting a snowy mountain road, complete with fake snow on the ground and a red 1959 MGA 1.500 (owned by member Franco Vicenzetto) equipped with a suitcase and wooden skis from the period on the roof rack, with its "nose" facing the backdrop itself, to give the impression that it was actually travelling along the snowy road.

The other MGs on display were a beautifully restored white 1963 Midget (owned by Simone Chiolo) and the red F (from the late 1990s) also on display at the Padua Fair, with which our ambassadors Mary Jo and Gianvincenzo Cantafora took the MG CAR CLUB d’Italia brand to the North Cape in 2014 and all the way to Siberia in 2015.

The commitment of the members who collaborated on the trade fair event in all its aspects (both bureaucratic and, above all, organizational) was, as usual, remarkable, repaid however by the appreciation of visitors, both members and non-members.

Among the "distinguished guests" who visited the stand was former Formula 1 driver Arturo Merzario, immortalized in the classic photo. We took advantage of the meeting to invite him as a guest at one of the club's upcoming events: who knows...
