Who we are
MG CAR CLUB of Italy - Italian MG Registry
It is an association founded in Rome in 1973, on behalf of the MGCC UK, the original Club founded in the MG factory in 1930. It brings together MG car owners and enthusiasts of the brand present throughout the country.
Its history has been written, over fifty years ago, by enterprising enthusiasts, who initially set themselves up as founders of the association.
The Members subsequently divided the roles according to the Statute, creating a Board of Directors and, over time, a complete Regional Organizational Structure, spread throughout the country, as well as an Operational Structure dedicated to specific objectives.
Among them, a fundamental role was played by the Presidents who, with the task of guiding and directing the Club's initiatives, contributed significantly to its ongoing development, each leaving a personal mark in transmitting the enthusiasm for the cars of this historic brand.
There are those who founded it and oversaw its early steps, those who consolidated its early experiences by overcoming initial difficulties, and those who led it to national and international fame and recognition. The friendship and mutual respect among all members, who consider themselves an integral and active part of the Club, are ever-present and worthy of respect. Their help and advice have always been welcome, and if this association has reached its venerable age, it is primarily thanks to the quality and passion of its members.
After joining the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) Federation, which brings together the national clubs representing the best enthusiasts of historic cars and motorcycles in Italy and which represents FIVA in Europe, in recent years the Club has actively participated in the life and work of the Federation, thanks also to the presence of some of its members who hold prestigious positions within it.
A common activity with foreign clubs is now consolidated, manifested through international gatherings and events, thanks to the respect the Club has earned abroad over years of contacts promoted and maintained by Fabio Filippello.
But that's not all: the Club's history is written above all by the personalities and contributions that all its members, even those who participate less frequently, have made and continue to make directly to the management and organization of the Club, at every event or meeting. The result is that no two MG cars are alike: each one seems to evolve in harmony with the personality of its owner, who naturally considers his or her MG a unique and inseparable companion on every occasion...
Recent contacts with MG F and TF owners have confirmed the authenticity of their feelings for the brand. Those who love MG have something different, perhaps inexplicable to those who aren't fascinated by its meaning. But those who "hear" the inner voice of the MG are different: they are someone who knows "...living freely, together."
