Certificate of Historical Significance

The Certificate of Historical Significance, commonly referred to as CRS, replaced the previous certificate of technical characteristics. It came into force on March 19, 2010, following the implementation of the ministerial decree of December 17, 2009, issued to implement the provisions of Article 60 of the Highway Code.

The document is issued by recognized registries such as ASI, Lancia, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and FMI and is required to certify a vehicle's historical and collectible value. It is also required for the reinstatement of vehicles previously deregistered or scrapped, without documentation, or imported from abroad.

To keep the CRS valid, it is necessary to renew the ASI membership card every year.

The certificate also allows you to claim any tax and insurance benefits available for vehicles that are at least twenty years old from the date of manufacture or initial registration. The vehicle must be properly registered with the ASI (Italian Automobile Society), properly maintained, and in good condition.

However, it remains mandatory to submit the vehicle for periodic inspection every two years.

The application form for the Certificate of Historical Significance must be printed on both sides, completed in full, and signed. A clear scan of the vehicle's registration document must also be attached to the application. Photographs of the document will not be accepted.

The club charges a fee of €50, which includes both assistance with the application process and the ASI fee. Any taxes, duties, or other mandatory charges are not included.

For vehicles requiring re-registration, such as deregistered vehicles, vehicles without license plates, vehicles without documents, or vehicles arriving from abroad, the specific forms must be requested directly from the Office.

In accordance with ASI regulations, each vehicle requesting certification must be inspected by the Club's Technical Commissioners. During the inspection, the vehicle's identity, chassis number, and registration documents will be verified.

The vehicle must be in an adequate and generally decent state of repair. The bodywork must not show any obvious damage or traces of rust. The interior must be intact, without tears, deep cracks, or significant stains. Colors, materials, and upholstery must also be consistent throughout the interior. Upon inspection, the vehicle must be clean and tidy in all its components.

Before submitting to ASI, the application form must be completed in its entirety and accompanied by the requested photographs, taken according to the instructions provided by the Club.

Submission of the application to the ASI is subject to prior vehicle inspection and approval by the Club's Technical Stewards. The final decision on the suitability of the vehicle rests solely with the designated Stewards.
