FIVA identity card

The FIVA Identity Card is an identification document for historic vehicles. It contains photographs of the vehicle, its date, identification data, classification, and any differences found compared to its original configuration.

The appraisal is conducted in compliance with the provisions of the current FIVA International Technical Code. Where necessary, the document may also contain a brief reconstruction of the vehicle's history.

The Card is issued in accordance with Articles 3 and 6 of the FIVA International Technical Code and is granted for use to the member.

The document allows participation in events included in the FIVA international calendar and may provide access to insurance policies dedicated to historic vehicles. However, it is not valid for participation in events included in the ASI national calendar.

The FIVA identity card is valid for ten years. However, it must be renewed before its expiration date if the vehicle is sold or changes ownership.

It can be requested for vehicles that are at least thirty years old from the date of manufacture.

The permit can also be issued to an Italian resident who owns a vehicle without a license plate, or to a person residing abroad, provided the vehicle is registered in Italy. However, it cannot be issued for vehicles registered in a foreign country.
