The city that exists .....

Don't look here for the simplicity of people gathered around the squares.
You won't find them.

Parma, the city that exists, the city, with its population scattered along the banks of its narrow river, offers itself to you only in small doses and allows itself to be discovered with flirtatious reticence.

You will walk along narrow cobblestone streets between the walls of houses that exude history with ancient love, almost stubbornly.

And soaring churches and bell towers supported by famous buildings filled with fascinating and overflowing bookshops. A dizzying array of panoramas, art, and culture bathed in a timeless, soundless light, suspended, almost unreal and secretive, like a fairytale. Immerse yourself, with the sense of resurrection of our octagon, in its customs and let yourself be filled by the sincere provincialism of those who live this daily life.

You'll drink wines that are generous in aroma, fresh and lively, capable of immersing you in all the joy you'll find in these places.

And you will be filled with good, signature food that the world of every color and race craves.

You will hear the silence broken by the bells of rusty bicycles, moved by drivers who are slow but proud.

You'll smell the fog drifting with molecules reminiscent of the countryside, which has always marked the seasons for those who live here.

Like a fragment of eternity, you will experience a dreamy and at the same time disturbing atmosphere, where every glance is already emotion, the aura courtly and every thought is already a dream.

You are living in Parma.......

Dear all,
I'm worried and I'll explain why.
Just back from the beautiful "May Flowers' 2011" I just experienced, I made an appointment with the doctor who discovered I was suffering from a serious form of RADUNITIS!!!!!!! J
I just got back and I can't wait to see you all again at the next event!!!!

Joking aside, I ask you: how good was it at this May Flowers' in Parma?
The city is beautiful and noble, but what I will take with me are its magnificent surroundings.
Just a stone's throw from so-called civilization, Angelo and his boys introduced us to a parallel world, so beautiful it seemed unreal, where wherever you turned, your gaze rested on gentle slopes, lonely roads, and fairy-like woods. And everywhere, flowers, order, and cleanliness: it felt like being in the immense, meticulously kept garden of a large, welcoming home.
Thanks guys for all this.

I want to take this opportunity to tell you that the club's board recently appointed me as national events manager.
Well, we're usually used to people who, upon receiving a new assignment, make amazing promises to do who knows what and change things.
I promise you I won't do ANYTHING!!!
In the sense that I believe that the regional directors of our club are already doing their best and offering us such a varied calendar that no other club can boast one like it.
From March to October, we members can range from the Alps to the sea, passing through hills and wonderful cities, with the only constant: excellent quality and a first-rate cost/service ratio offered.
I say this with good reason and not by hearsay, because I participate in many events of other associations, some with a long history behind them, and very often you pay double or almost double for little or nothing in return.
And above all, let me tell you, the atmosphere of friendship and serenity that reigns here, and the way we live our passion, are practically unique.
To those who complain—because there are always some who complain, and that's legitimate—I say that before complaining, they should try to do better themselves, despite all the expenditure of resources and energy that organizing an event entails.
Then we can talk.
As far as I'm concerned, coordinating and, where possible, improving the tremendous work of our legendary regional directors will be a pleasure as well as an honor.

Dream and reality…..

Writing after all the compliments and appreciations already expressed during the meeting is, as a cliché, truly difficult but paradoxically easy, precisely because I wouldn't know where to start, given that the fantastic "material" at my disposal is truly so much that I'm spoiled for choice.
I don't want to overshadow the other gatherings I've attended,……(even though I don't have a large enough audience to accurately judge the situation…far be it from me!).
What I can say, however, is that since I started attending official meetings—we're talking about four years ago—it's been a crescendo, reaching a peak with this latest May Flowers, which somewhat overshadows the other meetings in terms of the cultural aspect, accompanied by beautiful walks and cheerfulness, all seasoned with smells, flavors, and views, which only those places can provide, and a distinct personality that can be discovered, captured, and made available to others, simply using the carriage of a piece of iron.
Creating, with all the difficulties involved (see entry with the relevant permits in a locked-down and flirtatious city like Parma) a welcome worthy of a prince, truly amazed us all, especially me, who have never experienced the entrance into a hall worthy of a fairy tale with all its trimmings, where a king welcomes (or welcomed?) his queen.
Angelo and his team managed to transition us from the casual chic attire typical of our club, to the long dresses of the ladies and the tuxedos of the gentlemen… a real success.
But the real success was the poetry read with so much love, in which, in my humble opinion, Angelo's true nature immediately emerged.
Aristocratic elegance and splendor, infused with authentic humility and refinement, devoid of any ostentation, despite having been experienced in extraordinary and charming locations, gave first prize to the Lombardy director of our "genuine" club. This is a sign that where luxury reigns, authentic values such as friendship and dedication cannot necessarily coexist.
This is what distinguishes the person: his excellence in everything in simplicity of heart.
A huge THANK YOU to Angelo and the whole team for making me experience some dream days.
